About Spartan Robotics Inc.
We have been in business for almost a year now, and are striving to be one of the best robotics corporations in the market. We have recently been involved in the BEST Robotics district competition; a competition in which we had to develop a robot to work in BLT Farms. The robot had to be able to accomplish numerous tasks required for function at BLT Farms such as harvesting lettuce, tomatoes, and corn. The entire competition is simulated within a wooden arena. Many other aspects of a regular presentation were also required of us during the competition, such as the booth.
All of the goals laid out for us during the BEST district competition have been met, and we have accomplished diversity in the majority of our projects. Some examples would be our theme, displayed in our robot's design, and the booth's style. Our theme was definitely one of the most unique during the competition. All of the booths we saw in Huntsville were impressive; some were very creative, but they all seemed to be farm-based. We sought out for a diverse theme to follow, so we took the 'Bet' out of "Bet the Farm", and use it to develop our casino style. Our booth was very noticeable at the competition, as we have worked very hard at it in order to maintain our Casino theme. The three Robot designs, Queen of Corn, Jack the Reaper, and the Ace of Spades also followed this style. The "Ace of Spades", used for the competition, had a design and name that complemented the theme, Ace of Spades being the best card in many card games. The cosmetic appearance of the robot describes its name; the spades cut out on the wheels and the tray are to portray its name to those opposing and spectating. Overall, the appearance of our company was rather ingenious and creative, and even though it presented challenges, our theme helped us stand out and be unique.
The theme we chose required many materials, most of which we provided ourselves, such as the poker table used in our booth, or the acrylic poker chips we engraved with our laser burner. Several materials were provided by our sponsors, such as wood, pipe and basic construction materials used in the booth and the Robot. These materials were, and are still being used to innovate our booth beyond most of our competitors' in order to assure a distinct experience while visiting our booth. While visiting Spartan Robotics Inc.'s booth you may participate in a short summary of our robotics corporation. While this short presentation is being given you may admire our various props confined within the eight cubic feet of space.
During our presentation we describe what our corporation provides and how we undergo the activities given to us. We also give credit to our sponsors, supervisors, and teachers for assisting us in the production of our companies image, and for supplying us with the materials and guidance during and after the manufacturing process. During the presentation we also give information on how our robot operates, looks, and what the individual mechanisms functions are. These things have been described more into detail in our Engineering Notebook.
Our Company has Been working hard and efficiently to make ourselves look as good as we preform, as we've been striving to be the best robotics team both on the field, and in the board-room. We took three days out of district preparations for brainstorming alone, and another two just for improvement. What does this prove? This shows our creativity, strategy, and how we think outside the box. If anything, this means commitment. We had no examples to follow while going with this theme, aside from the actual casinos out there. But apart from those, we had not come across any other booths in this competition that followed the theme we did. We have the same purpose of the casino, so why would you sink all your money into a casino? Either you're investing in it, or your trusting you'll win. Bet the Farm with Spartan Robotics, because you always win!
